Governance and IT
Organisations and ICT are both becoming increasingly complex within the higher education sector. As a result, the way ICT within the organisation is planned and managed – “ICT governance” – is a difficult but important issue.
SURFfoundation organises meetings for administrators and chief information officers (CIOs) at higher education institutions. Participants can share know-how, experience, and best practices regarding how to manage the ICT components within the organisation.
The various meetings also provide input for a study that SURFfoundation is carrying out in the course of 2010 to investigate the relevant issues for organising IT governance at higher education institutions. Is it a good idea to specify or recommend a number of shared basic principles?
