TENCompetence
Within the European Commissions Sixth Framework Programme SURFfoundation is taking part in the TENCompetence project. TENCompetence stands for The European Network for lifelong Competence Development. The project aims to develop a technological and organisational infrastructure for the lifelong competence development of EU citizens. This infrastructure is being developed on the basis of the most modern pedagogical and organisational views. It will consists of a number of open-source components. The results of the TENCompetence project will be available free of charge to individuals, groups, organisations and institutions.
The project will run for four years from December 2005 to December 2009. Including SURFfoundation thirteen partners are participating from 9 countries. SURF primarily engages in the development of new didactic models for lifelong learning, as well as training and education in the TENCompetence concepts and dissemination of the TENCompetence results, including the organisation of meetings and conferences.
