Through the ICT and Education Platform puts in an effort for sustained innovation of higher education by using ICT. The Platform uses a systematic approach to innovation and knowledge development and dissemination.
Innovation in higher education by using ICT is mainly achieved at SURFfoundation through subsidising innovation projects in education. Innovation in education focuses on flexible new ways of learning and teaching rather than on the development of products. Examples are life long learning, gaming and simulation concepts and creative tailor-made education for new target groups, for instance in international initiatives, as well as the links to secondary education and the collaboration with private enterprise.
