Objective
The teaching staff search profile will be linked to an electronic programme guide. The basic concept of ZoEp I is that searching a collection of video material is replaced by the tailor-made provision of material. Material is automatically generated on the basis of a personal search profile. The institutions that are collaborating on the project consider ZoEp I to be proven technology. Upscaling ZoEp will achieve the following goals:
- At least 300 staff members at the participating institutions – representing between five and ten disciplines – will use ZoEp to find video material and use it in interactive teaching/learning situations;
- Workshops, implementation strategies, and presets of headwords for each discipline will be made available to all institutions making up Academia (17);
- ZoEp will be one of the new portals of the SURFnet videotheque;
- ZoEp will make passive material active;
- Teaching staff will add subjective metadata to interesting video material and share this knowledge and experience at discipline level, thus enhancing the video material.
