PASTEL (Professional Accreditation and Upscaling of Application of Electronic Learning Objects)

Objective
This project aims to provide electronic study material (computer assisted teaching) for medical specialists aiming to acquire accreditation points by means of in-service training. The material will be provided via MedischOnderwijs.nl and will be available at any time and from any location. With this project, MedischOnderwijs.nl is opening up its service to all doctors taking in-service programmes (refresher courses) in the Netherlands, meaning that the size of its current target group (university students) will increase by at least fourfold.
The university study material must be accredited in order to be used for medical specialists. The PASTEL project will allow the accreditation reports on the accepted lessons to be made available online so that users can get a better idea of the quality of the available teaching/learning material.
This upscaling comprises the following two mutually enhancing elements:
- a mark of quality will be made available for the teaching/learning material;
- the current target group will be expanded to cover postgraduate programmes via time/location-independent in-service courses.
